Intro: Mike Nelson, also known as
Michael J. Nelson, is pretty well known around here. Not only because he was the host and head writer for Mystery Science Theater 3000 (which won a Peabody, mind you), but also because I am introducing his third interview to this site.
For me, Mike helped make the funniest show ever shown on television, with MST3k and I credit him and the rest of the cast for my own sly humor and outlook on bad movies.
Here, Mike will talk about the salad days of MST, the new book “Happy Kitty, Bunny, Pony: A Saccharine Mouthful of Super
Cute” that he contributed to, and even gives a few
explanations on some esoteric riffs that the folk at the message board
couldn’t figure out. This interview’s questions were put up by the members of
MST3K: The Discussion
Board. So without any more time to waste and stuff, here it is in its entirety,
unplugged and uncut....and unnotfunny (double negative, meaning it’s funny). Enjoy!
