This is The The Movie's Title418 - ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES

Genre:  Ultra-low Budget Teen/Horror (1965, Color)

Synopsis:  That’s not a typo above – the title of this movie really says “the” twice.  And it really sucks sucks!  In it, a flying saucer lands near a teen make-out point on one very sunny night.  The local military base know about it and are covering the story up while they try to break into the saucer without blowing it up (which, oops, they do anyway).  A boy and his bubble-headed girlfriend (in more ways than one) hit and kill one of the the Eye Creatures (which all look like the Michelin Man constantly yawning).  They then go to the house of the old codger who lives down the road and call the police.  But when the police get there, the the Eye Creatures have killed another teen and set up the body to frame the teen couple (those eye creatures are pretty devious!).  The teens decide they need evidence to clear themselves of the charges against them, so they cleverly escape the police station by walking out the door marked “EXIT” and steal the sheriff’s police car.  They succeed in capturing the the disembodied hand of an Eye Creature and show it to the dead teen’s roommate, who then tried to take its picture and finds out that the the Eye Creatures are not photogenic at all.  But the roommate is soon captured by the the Eye Creatures and the teen couple must get all of the teens at the make-out point to drive over and take out the the Eye Creatures with their headlights.

Don’s Review:  This is one awful movie!  Although, story-wise, it sounds like one of Mr. BIG’s films, this movie is light-years from being as good as, say, Earth vs. the Spider (ep #313).  The the eye creatures are not scary in the least as they stumble around and they can be taken down with but a penlight; most of the night scenes were clearly shot during mid-afternoon; and lame, extremely unfunny attempts at humor are unfortunately sprinkled throughout this film.  The riffing, though, is pretty good and the host segments, although mixed in quality, end with the classic “They Just Didn’t Care” skit where the gaping bloopers in the film are reviewed (this segment had me on the floor).  Overall, a very memorable episode.
Trivia Note:  This movie is a remake of Invasion of the Saucer Men (1957)

Forrest’s Review:  I don’t like this episode that much.  Despite it being one of the most well loved episodes of Season Four, I still can’t see what everyone is so happy about.  First of all, the movie is almost unwatchable, I don’t know why anyone would make a remake of an already crappy film, and make it even more crappy.  By the way, the same people who made this movie, which is a remake of Invasion of the Saucer Men, also made a remake of It Conquered the World, which was called Zontar, Thing From Venus.  However, for me, Zontar was cheesy, Eye Creatures is just pure pain.  The characters are all terrible, unappealing bastards, and I wish them all dead.  They seem to be made of pure oil and grease, and the perverted men who watch the “smootchers” make Dropo and Mitchell look like great, multi-dimensional characters.  These two guys made we want to throw my television in the lake.  However, MST is about bad, disgusting films.  But the riffing can’t save this one.  Season Four is very hit and miss with me.  Either the episode is brilliant, or it’s only decent.  It’s about half and half for me.  Some of the riffs were hits in this episode, but only a very few, and they only got chuckles out of me.  The host segments are also only decent, with the exception of the host segment about “They Just Didn’t Care” being the highlight of this episode, that inspires many laughs.  All in all though, even the last host segment, funny as it was, doesn’t make up for the rest of the 75 minutes, so this episode gets a bad grade.  Definitely the worst of Season Four.
