Don’s Review: Much as they did three years earlier on Comedy Central, M&tBs review the film year 1997 nominees for the Oscars.
These nominees include
Titanic, Mrs. Brown, L.A. Confidential, Good Will
Hunting, As Good As It Gets, The Wings of the
Dove, Boogie Nights, Jackie Brown, Amistad, and their pick for Best Picture,
Starship Troopers (so what if it wasn’t nominated?).
This half-hour special is a lot of fun (Pearl & the Guys, thankfully,
don’t show up
in this) and a lot of the riffing, particularly on
Titanic, is pretty good.
