Ratings Key

In the reviews, every episode is rated on a FIVE-CROW scale with HALF-CROW intervals.  But what exactly do the ratings mean?  Well, ALL MST3K episodes are funny... but some are funnier than others.  So this rating scale is, basically, a bell-curve type system with the highest mark indicating the funniest episodes and the marks then progressively going down to indicate less funny episodes, relatively speaking.  So if an episode seems to have a lower ranking than expected, it’s simply because other episodes were seen as being funnier. And this rating scale of MST3K episodes is ONLY in relation to other MST3K episodes, because even the least funny MST episode is STILL better than 90% of the other stuff on TV.

(P.S., if an episode has a short, besides the overall rating for that episode, we also list in brackets the individual rating for both the Short and the Film.)

Breakdown of the Rating System
5/5 CROWS  An Excellent Episode
4.5/5 CROWS A Great Episode
4/5 CROWS A Very Good Episode
3.5/5 CROWS A Good Episode (The Average)
3/5 CROWS An Okay Episode
2.5/5 CROWS A Fair Episode
2/5 CROWS A So-So Episode
1.5/5 CROWS A Weak Episode
1/5 CROWS A Poor Episode
0.5/5 CROWS A Lousy Episode, though still better than the typical TV sitcom (shows which, on average, get 0/5 CROWS)
